At close range of Africa with photographer Michael Poliza

Back to overview

Photographer Michael Poliza is behind two of the pictures in "100 Places": No 8 - Naukluft Park in Namibia, and no 56: Lilongwe District in Malawi. Both pictures are from Africa, a continent that Michael Poliza keeps coming back to to photograph.

Through the camera Poliza captures graphic lines and structures in the landscape, making his pictures exceptional and enhancing the amazing beauty and diversity of the African continent. Both at close range and from the helicopter's distant view, nature's own pattern emerges from the wilderness through Poliza's pictures.

In 2006 Michael Poliza flew across Africa on an 8-week helicopter expedition, crossing over 19 countries by skimming close to the ground. Several of his best known pictures are from this expedition, and the trip was covered extensively by media in Europe and Africa.
